Privacy Policy

Kept lets wedding guests take photos into a private, sealed gallery (the box) that opens on the event's reveal day. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

  • Photos you take as a guest, stored so the host and other guests can see them after opening day.
  • The name you enter when you join an event, shown next to your photos.
  • An anonymous guest identifier created automatically on your device so your photo roll is yours. It is not linked to your real identity.
  • For hosts: a Sign in with Apple identifier used to create and manage your events. We do not receive your email if you choose to hide it.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, no third-party trackers, no selling of data.
  • No public feeds. Photos are visible only to the event's guests and host.
  • Photos are never used to train anything or shared outside the event.

Where data lives

Photos and event data are stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) in the European Union. Access is controlled by security rules that keep a box sealed until its reveal time.

Payments

Purchases (unlocking more guests for an event) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Kept never sees or stores your payment details.

How long we keep things

Photos and event data are kept so your box stays available to you after opening day. Deleting a photo, an event, or a host account removes the underlying data. If we ever introduce storage time limits for older events, we will state them here and in the app before they apply to you.

Deletion

A host can delete any photo, remove a guest, and delete an entire event from the app. Deleting a host account removes the account and every event that host created. Guests can ask the host to remove their photos, or contact us at the address below.
