The Kept host app is live on the iOS App Store today, free to download. Create an event, print the QR cards, and every guest with a phone becomes one of your cameras. The free tier is the full product for up to 8 guests; one optional purchase (€89.99, one-time) unlocks unlimited guests for a wedding. Full-quality downloads are free on every tier, forever.

What Kept is, in one paragraph
Kept turns every guest's phone into a disposable camera. Guests scan a QR code, type their name, and shoot a limited roll of photos right in the browser. Every shot drops into a sealed private gallery we call the box. Nobody can peek until opening day, the reveal time you set, typically the morning after. Then everyone opens it together and sees the whole night through everyone's eyes. Afterwards the photos are yours, properly: full quality, free to download, no expiry.
Why it took a month longer than planned
Kept ran its first real wedding on 8 August 2026, before it was on the App Store. That night 24 guests took 346 photos, 71% of the room picked up the camera, and the dance floor peaked at 107 photos in a single hour. It also crashed older iPhones in the gallery and quietly lost 21 photos to a shot-limit race, both fixed the same night and the morning after. That wedding is the reason 1.0 is the version it is.
App Review then rejected the app three times, all on the one purchase. First the reviewer could not find it, then the price needed to justify itself on screen, then a proper Restore Purchases path was required so an unlock survives a reinstall or a new phone. Each rejection was right, and each fix made the purchase safer for you: it is now tied to your event, delivered before the transaction closes, and restorable from the paywall and from Settings.
What ships in 1.0
- Guest camera in the browser. QR scan, name, shoot. Works on iPhone and Android with nothing to install. If you allow it, guests can also add photos from their camera roll, and those count against the same roll.
- The sealed box. You set the shot limit per guest (36 by default) and the reveal time. Nobody sees the photos before opening day, including you unless you choose to.
- Opening day. A once-per-device opening ritual leads into a keepsake gallery: tilted snapshot cards, guest captions, a fullscreen slideshow for the living-room TV.
- Full quality, free, forever.Every original is the guest's full camera capture, and downloading them costs nothing on any tier. No subscription, no export fee, no gallery that expires.
- Printable QR table cards, live guest count, reports and moderation (delete a photo, remove a guest), Sign in with Apple.

Free events include up to 8 guests with every feature, so run your rehearsal dinner, shower or birthday on it first and watch the box open the next morning. One purchase, €89.99 one-time (about $97), unlocks unlimited guests for one event. Guests never pay, there is no subscription, and the price is on the pricing page in plain numbers, next to what every other guest camera app charges.
How to run your first event this weekend
- Download Kept and sign in with Apple.
- Create the event: name, date, shot limit, reveal time.
- Print the QR table cards from the app, or share the join link in the group chat.
- Tell people once, ideally from the microphone: scan the code, take your 36 shots, the box opens tomorrow morning.
- Open the box together over breakfast.
What comes next
The near list, in order: an ask-for-a-rating moment right after the reveal, a sharper app icon, and the host-side controls the first weddings asked for, starting with who can see the box after the reveal. Further out, the company side: offsites and office parties already run on Kept through the corporate events setup, and an engagement report for the people who have to prove the party was worth it is on the way.
